Mystique Cosplay Progress - Skulls

Sooo. I'm finally doing something new with cosplay. Yay! It helps to have an enthusiastic roommate who wants to dress up as an X-Men character as much as I do. So, with the Denver Starfest Convention just 1 week away, I am going to start uploading all the progress being made on my Mystique cosplay.

I'm trying to go more traditional with this one, as we are going to be a group of 'original' characters. (For instance, Marvel Girl instead of Jean Grey, whom she later becomes.) But I'm so in love with the scales they gave Mystique in the movies that I just have to have them. So a traditional outfit and a movie-esque skin.

Starting off, I ordered some good old Halloween skulls and have painted them to look more skull-like. Good old acrylic paint really helped a lot on these guys. Ten more skulls to go and I will have a belt!
